Note: The Crash Reporting Performance report shows stats for "Mapped Distance" and "Average Days to Submit". The accuracy and timeliness of the data your agency submits to GEARS is critical to improving public safety in your community.
The "Mapped Distance" shows how far Lat/Long coordinates were moved for any reports that have been manually re-mapped by GEARS in attempts to improve coordinate accuracy that your agency originally submitted. Records missing a Lat/Long will be calculated as a "0, 0" coordinate, which will drastically raise the Mapping Distance average and negatively affect the quality of your GEARS data. Please contact GEARS Support at gears.support@lexisnexisrisk.com for a list of recent crash reports from your agency containing bad coordinates.
The "Average Days to Submit" column shows the average number of days between a crash date and submission date for your agency. Crash reports are considered timely if received into the GEARS Georgia State crash repository within 7 days of the accident.
